Remarc

Your feedback layer for AI collaboration

Overview

Remarc is a free, open-source macOS menu bar app that turns scattered feedback into structured work for AI coding agents. Point at anything on your Mac — selected text, a screen region, a web element, or your voice — leave a comment, and your agent reads and resolves it over MCP. Comments carry their source context, move through Open, Handed Off, In Progress and Resolved states, and group into review sessions you can export as Markdown or JSON. Works with Claude Code, Codex, OMP and Cursor; everything stays on-device until you hand it off.

Pricing: Free and open source (MIT)

Minimum macOS: 14.0 (Sonoma)

Architecture: Apple Silicon, Intel

Key Features

  • Comment on selected text in any app — the quote and source app are saved with your note
  • Capture screen regions and annotate them with arrows, shapes, blur, and pixelation
  • Chrome extension attaches page URL, CSS, layout, and React component details to web feedback
  • Voice comments and Crit Mode for recording longer reviews, with automatic transcription (macOS 26 or later)
  • Agents read and resolve comments over MCP — works with Claude Code, Codex, OMP, and Cursor
  • Status tracking through Open, Handed Off, In Progress, and Resolved
  • Group comments into sessions per review or project, and export as Markdown or JSON
  • Comments stay in local storage — no cloud backend until you share them
