OpenAGI
Self-improving agent that runs on your Mac and reaches out first
Overview
OpenAGI is a proactive personal agent that runs as a local daemon on your Mac. It learns from your conversations and, if you enable optional screen capture, from how you work, then spots repetitive tasks and messages you when it can take one off your plate, over SMS, Telegram, or HTTP. An Adaptive Scrutiny layer scores each signal before the agent acts, repeated work spawns persistent specialist agents, and memory is tiered from short term to long term. The signed, notarized menu bar app includes a Quick Ask panel on Option+Space and updates itself. Everything is stored under ~/.openagi on your machine, with no account and no cloud component. Bring your own model from OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or Ollama, and connect tools through MCP.
Pricing: Free for personal use (source-available, PolyForm Noncommercial)
