Cabinet
AI-first startup operating system — markdown knowledge base plus AI agents
Overview
Cabinet is a free, open-source, AI-first operating system for small teams and solo founders. Everything lives as plain Markdown files on disk, so you own your data, yet the whole system is built for AI: named agents (CEO, Editor, Marketer, and more) can read and write directly to your knowledge base, schedule autonomous jobs, research topics, draft content, analyze competitors, score leads, and keep docs up to date. Under one roof you get a WYSIWYG + markdown editor with slash commands, Git-backed version history, full-text search, PDF/CSV viewing and editing, a web-based xterm.js terminal, embedded HTML/CSS/JS apps that live inside your knowledge base, an internal team chat with @mentions, a mission/task tracking system, and linked GitHub repo support. Self-hosted and cross-platform — run via "npx cabinetai run" or the Mac download. MIT licensed, no subscription, no paywall.
