VoiceBar
The voice layer for your Mac — hold one key to talk, ask, save, and find
Overview
VoiceBar is a dictation and voice-assistant app for macOS built around a single held key. Hold fn and speak, and clean, punctuated text lands wherever your cursor is, in any app, at roughly three times typing speed. Select anything on screen — a clause, a chart, a price — hold Option and ask about it, and the answer is spoken back without opening a new tab. Say "save this page to apartment hunt" and pages, selections, and dictated notes pile up in collections in your Library; weeks later you can just ask "which place allowed dogs?" and get an answer built from your own saved sources, cited and read aloud. It also writes shell commands to your terminal prompt on request, though it never runs anything itself. Cloud-first and requires sign-in and an internet connection. Currently v1.0 beta.
Pricing: Free (2,000 words/week); Pro $15/month or $12/month billed annually
Minimum macOS: 14.0 (Sonoma)
Architecture: Apple Silicon
