Overview
TaskTrace is a macOS productivity app that passively monitors your work activity and uses on-device AI to summarize sessions. It records screen activity and keystrokes to automatically track time spent across apps and projects, then generates intelligent work summaries using local AI processing. The app features a built-in MCP server that exposes your full work history to local AI agents like Claude Code, giving them real situational awareness of what you've been working on. Includes daily work overviews, a full work history calendar, tag-based time tracking, analytics heatmaps, and microphone transcription capabilities. All processing happens on-device for privacy.
