Overview
Precis is dictation for Mac. Hold Option + Space in any app, talk, and let go: clean text is typed where your cursor is, shaped for the app you're in (short and casual in Messages, the ask first with bullets in ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor, a draft in Mail). Speech recognition (NVIDIA Parakeet or OpenAI Whisper) and the rewriting (Apple's on-device model) both run on the Mac, so audio never leaves it and it works with Wi-Fi off. Every rewrite passes a guard that rejects invented names, numbers, dates and links.
Pricing: One-time purchase, no subscription. $19 for the first 100 copies, then $29. One licence covers 2 Macs. 7-day free trial, no card and no account.
Minimum macOS: 26.5 (Tahoe)
Architecture: Apple Silicon
