Overview
EnviousWispr is a free, open-source dictation app for Mac that transcribes speech to text entirely on-device using Apple Silicon. Hold a hotkey (or double-press for hands-free mode) to record, and your speech is transcribed with a choice of Parakeet v3 (fastest, 25 languages) or WhisperKit (99 languages) in under a second. Optional AI polish cleans up filler words, grammar, and formatting using Apple's on-device intelligence, a local Ollama model, or your own OpenAI/Gemini API key. A custom vocabulary lets you add names, technical terms, and jargon so transcriptions come out accurate. No account, subscription, or cloud upload is required, and the full codebase is open source and auditable on GitHub.
